Only One Place Left for England in Miniature Tour

The 2012 England in Miniature Tour is definitely going this year. Martha and I are really pleased, especially because we couldn’t get enough people to register when we offered a similar itinerary in 2010. This time the tour has filled rapidly, and we currently have only one place left.

We have set a maximum of 20 participants for this tour, so it will be a wonderful small group. And because we have already reached the 19 number, the price of the tour has gone down for everyone.

Many of the folks who will be joining us for this year’s tour are members of the Midwest Miniature Guild. The Guild meets three times a year in Shoreview, a suburban location near Minneapolis. Members come from throughout Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and northern Iowa to enjoy a day of classes, shopping, and sharing resources, ideas, and fun. All levels of interest and accomplishment are welcome, and we learn from each other. My Sue’s Day Girls friends Jo and Sue will be teaching a class this fall on making one of Bruce and Judy Steinke’s quarter scale houses.

In addition to the gals from the Midwest Miniature Guild, folks from Olympia, WA, Rochester, MN, and central Illinois have also signed up for the tour. All women so far, but we would love to have some men along as well. We’re looking forward to our three nights each in Penrith in the English Lake district, York, and Stratford-upon-Avon. We’ll spend our arrival night in Manchester and the night before our return to the States in Birmingham, right across the road from the NEC where the Birmingham Miniatura will be held.

The travelers are beginning to think ahead about the opportunities for fun and adventure on this tour. Of course, there will be plenty of chances to “shop”, but we’ll also visit stately homes, gardens, and museums. There will be “something for everyone”, not just for miniature enthusiasts. Many of this year’s travelers have already booked tickets for “The Comedy of Errors” at the newly remodeled Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

With a great travel itinerary, fascinating stops along the way, and the M&M promise of fun and surprises, the England in Miniature Tour will be a grand adventure. Why not take that last spot and join us??
