The M&M’s visit the Seattle Miniature Show

On Saturday, March 6, 2010, Martha and I attended the Seattle Dollhouse Miniature Show at the Seattle Center.

The staff there was very receptive to our request to distribute brochures for the England in Miniature Tour coming up this fall. We want to thank them for their helpfulness and encouragement. We left brochures on the information table and passed them out to people we met at the show.

We loved the display of miniature rooms and other projects done by local crafters. It is always a delight to see how other miniaturists can visualize a scene and then recreate it is such detail. Naturally, Mary also did a bit of shopping, purchasing a Green Man sculpture for the wall of her Green Man Tavern (a work in progress), several primroses as a reminder of spring in Washington, and a few surprises for friends.

The world is truly a “small place” in many ways. Standing next to us at Debbie Young’s booth, was someone I had met several years ago at the Chicago International Show. She is the sister of one of my favorite Minnesota artisans, Kari Bloom of Miniton Miniatures. It turns out that both Kari and I have sisters who live in western Washington with whom we love to travel. So now we’re hoping that Kari and her sister will join the M&M’s in England this fall. That would be a blast.
